A Citizen of a foreing country who seeks to enter the Unite States generally must obtain a U.S. Visa, which is placed in the traveler's passport, a travel document issued by the traveler's country citiizenship.
Types of Visas:
1- Non-immigrant visisa or tourist visa
2-Immigrant visa, for travel to live permanently in the United States.
A foreign Citizen seeking to immigrate generally must be sponsored by a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident immediate relative(s), or prospective U.S. Employer, and have an approved petition before applying for an immigrant visa.
1- Petition: submit a petition
2-After your petition is approved: Begin National Visa (NVC) processing, Consular Electronic Applicatiopn Center processing, Choose an Agent, pay fees (affidavit and visa)
3- Collect and Submit Form and Documents to the NVC: Submit visa application form, collect financial documents, collect supporting documents, and submit Documents to the NVC.
4-Interview: Prepare for the interview and atendent to the interview.
5-After the interview: a) Visa approval, when approved, you will be informed how and when your passport and visa will be returned to you.b) Visa denial-if denied, you will be informed why you are ineligible to receive a visa.
You wil receive your passport with visa, and a sealed immigrant packet that you must present to U.S. Customs and Border Protection at a port-of-entry.
You must pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services after you receive your immigrant visa and before you travel to the United States.
